Jeff Nursey

A visionary spirit. A welcoming personality. The drive to make things happen.

Jeff Nursey brings energy into a room—and a personal interest in the people in it.

He asks questions, shares ideas, and looks for possibilities. Behind his affable personality is an entrepreneur who has spent decades working through the details that turn an idea into something people can experience.

Experience matters. Character matters. And the person beside you matters.

A Builder From the Beginning

Jeff’s love of cooking began beside his mother at age five. By 18, he had opened his first full-service deli and catering business in Pensacola, Florida.

His career grew to include food truck operations, restaurant management, catering, events, and food and beverage leadership for Wet’n Wild’s Arlington and Garland, Texas, parks.

That range of experience shaped his approach: understand the operation, take care of the people, and keep looking for ways to improve.

Jeff brings a founder’s enthusiasm to new opportunities. He is willing to question “the way we have always done it,” learn from others, and get to work.

Results Behind the Enthusiasm- George Millay said this- Nursey is the best thing that came to Wet n Wild.

A 1989 Wet’n Wild management evaluation credited Jeff’s tenure with significant milestones:

  • $1,997,500 in food service revenue, the highest recorded since the Texas park opened.Under Jeff’s leadership, food service revenue reached a record nearly $2 million in 1989—equivalent to approximately $5.4 million in 2026 dollars, adjusted for inflation.
  • A 28.6% food cost, the lowest percentage since opening.
  • Record customer satisfaction in exit polls.
  • The lowest food service employee turnover.

The evaluation also recognized his operational knowledge, initiative, and commitment to developing his supervisors.

In a 2021 recommendation, TCBY owner Dr. Frank V. Messina credited Jeff’s management and marketing work with helping his Pensacola store achieve the fifth-leading year-over-year sales increase among TCBY franchises.

These chapters in Jeff’s career show how his attention to service, teamwork, and daily operations has translated into results.

The Warmth to Connect. The Initiative to Help.

Jeff’s personality makes it easy to start a conversation. His willingness to get involved gives people a reason to continue it.

Restaurant owner Mitch Johnson described Jeff as organized and forward-thinking, highlighting his initiative in negotiating more favorable distributor terms during a difficult period for the business.

Longtime business associate Anthony Jacobs described him as dependable, a lifelong learner, and someone who seeks outcomes where everyone feels respected.

For Jeff Nursey, a successful relationship is one people want to continue. His guiding principle is simple:

People before profits.

A Setback Became a Setup for a Comeback

A serious road-bike accident on October 7, 2007, changed Jeff’s life and made recovery a deeply personal part of his story.

There have been setbacks, adjustments, and new beginnings. Like a cat with nine lives, Jeff keeps finding the determination to begin again.

Known as “The Miracle Man,” he sees his life as a gift from God and believes that gift comes with a purpose: to serve, encourage, and use what he has learned to help others.

He describes his biggest setback as a setup for a comeback.

That experience gives weight to a belief he carries into his work and relationships:

Daily Decisions Determine Destiny.

A Vision That Makes Room for Others

Through Cool Kids Cook, Jeff brings his entrepreneurial imagination back to the kitchen where his own story began.

His vision is to help children prepare healthy foods, discover their abilities, and bring their families together. A young chef gaining confidence matters to him. So does a business owner finding a practical solution or a team discovering a better way to work together.

That combination of experience, faith, generosity, and determination gives Jeff his distinctive approach.

The Story Behind the Name

Life has a way of teaching us what really matters.

For me, it comes back to faith, family, and the people who show up.

My journey has included building businesses, bringing families together through Cool Kids Cook, and recovering from a serious bicycle accident in 2007. Each chapter has shaped the way I think about purpose and relationships.

Entrepreneurship has taught me the importance of taking initiative, keeping my word, and listening. Cooking has shown me how a shared experience can bring people together. Recovery has taught me patience—and a deeper appreciation for the encouragement we give one another.

You may know me as “The Miracle Man.” To me, that name is a reminder to be grateful for my life and thoughtful about how I use it. My faith is at the heart of that gratitude.

I believe life is a gift from God. I want to use mine to serve, build relationships, and help people see possibilities in their own lives.

I’m still learning. I’m still dreaming. And I’m still willing to begin again.

Daily Decisions Determine Destiny.

That belief is why I created this space. The things we learn can become useful to someone else when we take the time to share them.
